Cookie Policy
What are cookies?
Cookies are a tool used by web servers to store and retrieve information about visitors or users. A cookie is simply a text file that some servers install while you browse. It can provide information such as where you are connecting from, how long you remain connected, the device you use (desktop or mobile), your operating system and browser, the pages you visit most, the number of clicks you make and other information about online behaviour. Cookies do not provide references from which a user’s first and last names can be inferred. They cannot read data from your hard drive or introduce viruses onto your device. They also cannot read cookies placed on your hard drive by other servers.
Why are they important?
You can access the website without enabling cookies, although disabling them may prevent it from working correctly.
From a technical perspective, cookies help websites run more smoothly and adapt to users’ preferences, for example by storing a language or currency preference or identifying the device used to access the site.
They provide levels of protection and security that prevent or hinder cyberattacks against the website or its users.
They allow website operators to collect statistical information to improve the quality of their services and the user experience.
They help optimise the advertising shown to users by making it more relevant to their interests.
Consent to the use of cookies
The website displays a Cookie Notice which the user or visitor may accept, expressly consenting to the use of cookies as described below.
Users can configure their browser to reject all cookies by default or to display a notification each time a cookie is received, allowing them to decide whether to install it on their hard drive.
Browser settings
Alehost reminds users that the use of cookies may be subject to their consent when installing or updating their browser.
This consent can be withdrawn through the browser’s content and privacy settings. The website owner recommends consulting the browser’s help section or the support pages of the main browsers: Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari and Chrome.
For more information about withdrawing consent or disabling cookies, or for any questions about this Cookie Policy, contact the website owner at alehost@alehost.es with “Cookie Policy” in the subject line.
Types of cookies used on the website
When browsing the website, users may encounter cookies placed directly by the website owner or by other organisations, as explained below:
- Session cookies, which expire when the user leaves the page or closes the browser. They remain active only during the visit to the website and are deleted from the device when the visit ends.
- Persistent cookies, which expire when their purpose has been fulfilled or when they are manually deleted. They have an expiry date and are commonly used for online purchases, personalisation or registration, so that users do not have to enter a password repeatedly.
Cookies can also be classified as first-party or third-party cookies, depending on who manages the device or domain from which they are sent and processes the resulting data.
- First-party cookies are sent to the user’s device and managed exclusively by us to improve the website’s operation. We use the information collected to improve the quality of our service and your experience as a user.
- Third-party cookies: when users interact with content on our website, third-party cookies may also be set, for example when clicking social media buttons or watching videos hosted on another website. These cookies are set by a domain other than ours. We cannot access the data stored in cookies from other websites when you browse those sites.
Measuring advertising in ChatGPT (OpenAI)
If you accept Marketing, we use the OpenAI pixel only on our Spanish and English building management pages to measure visits and enquiries received and associate them with ads in ChatGPT. OpenAI receives technical browsing and conversion signals. Its technology may automatically detect email addresses, phone numbers, first names and last names entered in forms, normalise them in your browser and send their SHA-256 hashes. These identifiers remain personal data.
You can reject Marketing or withdraw your consent through “Manage consent” without preventing you from sending Alehost an enquiry. More information about the OpenAI pixel.
