Alehost receives a commitment seal for sustainability and neighbourly relations
In October 2022, Alehost announced that it had received the WeRespect Seal in recognition of its commitment to, and satisfactory compliance with, good practices for neighbourly relations and sustainability in holiday let management in Madrid.
The recognition announced in 2022 related to Alehost’s commitment to good neighbourly relations and sustainability in holiday apartments, as well as its responsibility towards the environment.
The WeRespect initiative involves guests, neighbours and owners, with the aim of respecting the main rules for shared living in residential buildings that include holiday lets.
To obtain this certification, businesses first commit to controlling noise pollution by preventing excessive noise in holiday lets and protecting neighbours’ peace and quiet. This requires a prompt response to night-time disturbances, along with certified monitoring systems that continuously analyse sound levels inside the properties in real time. An external night-time concierge service must also be provided to deal with these exceptional situations.
The second commitment is protecting the environment by separating waste into different bins, providing explanatory signs and using water and energy responsibly.
The third commitment concerns good neighbourly relations and respect for shared areas, including looking after lifts — for example, displaying their maximum capacity in Spanish and English to prevent breakdowns and damage — and clearly labelling entryphone buttons.
This article records the recognition announced in 2022 and the commitments associated with WeRespect at that time. It does not, on its own, confirm the seal’s current validity, scope or subsequent renewal. Good neighbourly relations continue to depend on practical prevention and response procedures at each property.
