Madrid events in 2024: an archive calendar for owners

 In Holiday rental management

Owning a holiday apartment involves much more than buying a property, decorating it and listing it on a platform. To make the most of your accommodation, you need to know your city’s events calendar in detail.

This collection was published to help plan the 2024 season. It is retained as an archive, alongside advice on using an events calendar in accommodation management; it is not a current programme.

Events announced for Madrid in 2024: archive

The following selection covers events announced for 2024 when the article was prepared. The dates are part of that historical forecast, not retrospective confirmation of what took place. Always consult organisers’ calendars when planning a new season.

Concerts

The announced 2024 music programme included concerts at various Madrid venues. We retain the original list to give context to that year’s planning:

  • 17 March: Madison Beer (Palacio Vistalegre)

The original link led to Madrid’s tourism concert calendar for 2024. For a current stay, confirm the programme on the organiser’s website and in the latest municipal calendar.

Sporting events

These sporting events were also included in 2024 planning. An event’s ability to generate bookings depends on its dates, audience and the accommodation’s location:

  • 31 January to 4 February: Hexagon Cup (Madrid Arena Casa de Campo)
  • 7 April: Movistar Half Marathon
  • 28 April: Zurich Rock’n Roll Running Series Madrid
  • 28 November to 1 December: Madrid Horse Week (IFEMA)

The original forecast included Atlético de Madrid and Real Madrid’s Champions League round-of-16 matches in March 2024. That reference is retained as context for the published calendar; it must not be used as a current schedule or evidence of the occupancy ultimately achieved.

Busier periods

Easter, the May bank holiday period, December and Christmas are dates worth examining in the local calendar. Compare your own accommodation’s bookings and results: a busy period in the city does not produce the same occupancy or margin for every property.

Improve your holiday accommodation’s profitability

To plan another season, combine the events calendar with booking lead times, availability, comparable prices and costs. Opportunities around specialist events

Food fairs, exhibitions and other cultural events may appeal to different guest groups. Check dates, duration, transport and proximity before adapting your listing; highlight only genuine advantages of the accommodation.

Offer flexible policies

Assess which cancellation policy suits your ability to resell nights. Flexibility may help travellers decide, but increases exposure to changes of plan. Model that effect before applying it to dates with strong expected demand.

Monitor trends and keep adapting

Keeping up with trends and changes in demand is essential for long-term success. Many online analytics tools can help assess your property’s performance during particular events. Learning from these experiences allows you to adjust your strategy continuously and remain competitive.

Assess the competition

Look at how nearby properties respond to events. What do they do well? Where could they improve? Differentiate your property by highlighting its distinctive features and offering services others may not provide. These differences can influence a traveller’s choice. Use this archive as an example of planning, not a current calendar. Compare events with the actual pace of bookings and record the results to inform the next season. You can also explore how to approach low-season demand.
